The civic development of our next generation of citizens starts long before they step into the voting booth for the first time. A strong foundation for good citizenship starts today.
At the Princeton Youth Program for Civic Engagement (“PYC”) we focus on the civic development of young citizens and empower them to become lifelong leaders of positive change in their communities. Our goal is to help equip young citizens in our community with the knowledge, skills and disposition to support robust civic engagement. We do this by supporting our schools and teachers in implementing civic education initiatives and connecting young citizens with community-based civic development programs and activities, including experiential learning. We also advocate for policies that support greater inclusion of comprehensive civics and citizenship curriculum in schools and that foster civic equity.
